Ariana W. K. Katz
Ariana W. K. Katz is a researcher within RTI International’s Women’s Global Health Imperative (WGHI), part of the Center for Global Health. Specializing in qualitative research methods, analysis, and program implementation and evaluation, Ms. Katz has a background in health behavior and psychology with nearly a decade of experience bringing a health equity, sex-positive, and pleasure lens to sexual and reproductive health, HIV prevention, and LGBTQIA+ health in global and domestic settings. She is a skilled facilitator, interviewer, and trainer and also serves as Communications and Special Projects Lead for RTI’s Strategic Engagement and Belonging program within the office of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (EDIB). In this capacity, Ms. Katz supports the EDIB and corporate communications team collecting, writing, and editing content about EDIB news and events, collaborates on strategic planning initiatives, and develops and facilitates EDIB-related trainings and workshops.

By the end of this session, you will be able to (1) think strategically about asking someone’s pronouns; (2) challenge assumptions, especially in virtual spaces; (4) incorporate affirming language into everyday communications; (5) explore the power in visible leadership support and (6) take responsibility to ensure safe spaces for transgender and non-binary employees.
