Laura Garger is Of Counsel at Ogletree Deakins and has been representing federal contractors in affirmative action and OFCCP matters for over 25 years. She counsels and defends employers in a variety of industries, and has significant experience in jurisdictional challenges, systemic discrimination claims, and complaint investigations before the OFCCP. She works closely with contractors to balance best business practices with strategies to comply with affirmative action/OFCCP regulations and advance DE&I initiatives. She conducts specialized training for executives, hiring managers, human resources and talent acquisition representatives, and assists companies in the development of outreach and recruiting efforts to meet compliance obligations and to build a more diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce.

Join Rhonda Aubin-Smith, District Director, OFCCP-Boston, and members of the New England ILG (NEILG) to discuss how to team with regulators, community resources and employer peer-group resources to ‘Be the Beacon for Change’. The panel will discuss individual company initiatives and the availability and utility of community programs to increase the workplace participation of historically marginalized groups. The panel will discuss challenges and possibilities for developing the skill sets of potential applicants – not just identifying minority candidates, but working to ensure equal access by increasing skills to increase the likelihood of selection.
